023 Edelschrott Edelschrott developed on the road over the Packsattel, a pass connecting Western Styria with Carinthia.

The parish church of Sankt Laurentius was first mentioned in 1245. The square tower over the choir had already been part of the original Romanesque church while the nave dates from 1780-1790.
