Zschopau-Talsperre Kriebstein

1407 Zschopau-Talsperre Kriebstein The Kriebstein dam on the river Zschopau [left] was built between 1927 and 1930. The retaining wall is 240 m long and 28 m high, the capacity of the reservoir is 11 million m3. The reservoir (9 km long, up to 300 m wide, covering an area of 130 hectares) soon became a popular tourist attraction. The whole area was protected as a nature reserve in 2002.
