2640 Mamaia Mamaia is situated immediately north-east of Constanța and is considered to be Romania's most popular Black Sea resort. Mamaia is 8 km in length and only 300 m in width, being a strip of land between the Black Sea and Lake Siutghiol. The beach season is at its best between mid May and late September, when average daytime temperatures range between 25 to 30 degrees Celsius. The water stays warm until late autumn/fall.

The casino, depicted on glass no. 2640 [left], was built in 1925.

[This page uses unicode encoding for special characters of the Romanian language. In particular, the characters ș, Ș, ț, Ț are used instead of the allographs with cedilla (ş, Ş, ţ, Ţ), which, although widely used, are incorrect representations of the Romanian characters with comma. If your browser displays question marks, empty boxes or the like in their place this means that the fonts that you have installed on your computer do not include the full unicode character set.]
