3585 Böttingen Böttingen is situated at an elevation of 911 m on an elevated plain of the Großer Heuberg about km north of the district town Tuttlingen in southern Baden-Württemberg. The municipality has a population of about 1,400 (2017).

Böttingen was first mentioned in 802 AD in a deed of donation for the monastery of Sankt Gallen. From 1253 it belonged to the monastery Beuron. Following several changes in ownership, the village in 1805 became part of Württemberg. Since 1938 it is part of the district Tuttlingen.

The picture on glass no. 3585 [left] shows a view of the soldiers' monument, which was erected in 1905 to commemorate the soldiers who had died in World War I. It was created out of local marble. However, over time the stone weathered considerably so that the monument was dismantled after World War II. Only the pedestal and some marble plates remain today.
