ru: Айнбек

1364 Einbeck Einbeck is situated at an elevation of 117 m on the river Ilme near its confluence with the river Leine in southern Lower Saxony. It was first mentioned around 1158 and obtained the status of a town in 1279. In 1368 Einbeck became a member of the Hanse federation of trading towns. The town received the right to mint and issue coins in 1430. The Reformation was introduced in 1529. The period of wealth ended when two large fires destroyed the town almost completely in 1540 and 1549. Tthe town was not connected to the railroad system due to technical problems, but industrialisation nevertheless began after 1846. Although many of the old half-timbered houses were torn down during the 1960s, the old town of Einbeck today still retains more than 120 half-timbered houses dating from the 16th century. 1364 verso

The historical Town Hall [left] was built in 1549–1595.

The dedication on the back side of the souvenir glass dates the glass to 1936.
