Dorna Candrenilor is situated at an elevation of 825 m in the Moldavian Subcarpathians on the banks of the river Dorna
and its right tributary, the Negrișoara, about 84 km southwest of the county seat, Suceava. The commune is composed of
three villages: Dealu Floreni, Dorna Candrenilor and Poiana Negrii. It included five other villages until 2003, when these were split
off to form Coșna commune. At the 2021 census, the current commune had a population of 2,966.
Glass no. 4890 [left] is labeled (in German) Bad Kaudreuy, which, however, includes a double spelling
error, as the name of Dorna Candrenilor in German was Dorna Kandreny (and in Hungarian Dornakandren). The prefix
Bad in German means 'spa' and usually is used for spa places. However, I could not find yet any information for this place in
this regard.
