Hlinsko

 

787 Hlinsko Hlinsko is situated at an elevation of 590 m on the Chrudimka river of East Bohemia.

Hlinsko was first mentioned in 1348 but its history can be traced back to the 11th century. In 1834 it received the official status of a town. During the 19th century Hlinsko became an industry town. especially after 1871 when Hlinsko was connected to the railroad system. Between 1865 and 1919 and from 1949 until 1960 Hlinsko was the administrative centre of a district (okres) of the same name. In 1990 the district Hlinsko was incorporated into the district Chrudim.

The picture on the glass shows the town hall of Hlinsko. It was built in Baroque style in 1792 and obtained its present appearance in 1850.
