4274 Griesingen Griesingen is situated at an elevation of 506 m on the river Danube in the district Alb-Donau, about 25 km upstream of Ulm. The municipality has a population of about 1,050 (2021).

In the High Middle Ages, the place was in the territory of the Duchy of Swabia. In 1343 the region became part of Anterior Austria (see map (0f 1780)). Following the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 1802, Griesingen in 1805 became became part of the Electorate (1806 Kingdom) of Württemberg. From 1809 until 1849 the domains were in possession of the princes of Thurn und Taxis. In 1849 it became administered by the district Ehingen, which in 1973 was merged with the district Ulm and several municipalities of the districts Biberach and Mümsigen into the new district Alb-Donau.
